Every week I’ll be going over every game in the NFL and giving my prediction, with the point spread. I’ll also be keeping track of how good, or bad, I’ll be doing for the year.
Last Week Record: 4-11
Tough 1st week, but the week 1 is always difficult. On to the NFL Picks for Week 2.
Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5) – This will be the matchup of 2 teams looking for their 1st win. Texans will be starting their rookie QB Deshaun Watson. This game will be on Thursday night and it will be a very quick turnaround for the rookie. Pick – Bengals
Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers (-7.5) – While the last game was between 2 teams that lost in week 1, this one is between to winners from week 1. Both teams played horrible opponents so it’s still hard to see who is actually good. I’m trusting the Panthers defense with this one. Pick – Panthers
Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6.5) – I don’t think the Bears are very good and they were lucky to be as close as they were last week. This is Tampa Bay’s season debut and I think they will be charged up for it. Pick – Buccaneers
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-7.5) – The Browns did a good job covering last week and as I said last week, I think Browns are better than most people think. Add that with I don’t think the Ravens are as good as people think and it makes this pick pretty simple. Pick – Browns
Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars (+1.5) – Titans started out the season slow, but they did face a team that could be in the AFC championship game this year. Jacksonville played a team that have already decided to replace their QB. I think this could be a blowout. Pick – Titans
Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts (+8.5) – Cardinals lost their workhorse back David Johnson for about 3 months. They get lucky enough to face he Colts without Luck. I think the Cards will air it out and as we saw last week, the Colts secondary is dreadful. Pick – Cardinals
Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) – This is a tough one because the Eagles looked solid last week and the Chiefs lost their heart of their defense for the year in Eric Berry. The Chiefs may pull it out, but I think it’s a FG type of game. Pick – Eagles
Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5) – Le’Veon Bell will not be as bad as he was last week. Steelers are at home and the Vikings won’t have that great homefield advantage. The spread is big, but I really like Pittsburgh to have a big week. Pick – Steelers
New England Patriots at New Orleans Saints (+5.5) – Attention Saints, try to withstand the initial onslaught that I think the Pats will unleash and you may have a chance. I don’t think they’ll be able to, Pats roll. Pick – Patriots
New York Jets at Oakland Raiders (-14.5) – Even though the Jets may be the worst team in the league, their defense isn’t horrible. I expect them to keep it within this dramatically huge spread. Pick – Jets
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5) – The Dolphins have their season debut against the Chargers, who will have their 1st game at their new home in the Stubhub Center. I’ve been there and that place could be very loud. It will help the Chargers. Pick – Chargers
Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos (+1.5) – The Cowboys looks really good last week. The spread indicates how close of a game I think it will be. It’s a coin flip game. Dallas is better, while Denver has a good homefield advantage. Pick – Cowboys
Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Rams (-2.5) – I mentioned that the Redskins have the potential to bomb out this year, if Cousins plays like that again, they will. The Rams ride the confidence of last week into another win. Pick – Rams
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (-12.5) – The 49ers will be fighting the Jets for being the worst team in the league. The Seahawks have arguably the best homefield advantage in the sport. The 12th man will be rocking. Pick – Seahawks
Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons (-2.5) – This will be a good judge to see if the Packers are ready to dethrone the Falcons. They may not be ready, yet. I’m going to give the Falcons respect that they can win this home game. Pick – Falcons
Detroit Lions at New York Giants (-4.5) – I’m a little worried about my pick in this game. The Giants looked really bad last week and their offensive line is dreadful. This game will be for respect. If the Giants lose, this year could get ugly, fast. Pick – Giants
